"Ice Cation" kept us safe from hazardous roadways
during winter storm in north Texas
Please express thanks and appreciation to our
LISD Central Office Leadership, Dr. Stephen Waddell.
Below freezing temperatures and rainfall created an ice covered northern Texas that hit our area the night of December 5, forcing our school district to close in an effort to ensure safety from travel on icy roadways for students and staff on Friday, Dec 6 and Monday, Dec 9, 2013.
As I write this post the temperature has eked its way up to just below and at the freezing point of 32 degrees. Brr! I predict that school will re-open on Tuesday, Dec 10, but please stay tuned to our social media and the major network media sources for weather updates as night falls, along with the temperatures. Scheduled events for this week:
2nd grade performance It will certainly be a precious performance by our 2nd graders following a brief meeting of the general membership of our Parent Teacher Association, lead by President Wendy Hider. Meeting time: Dec 10. 6:00 PM.
Our 2nd graders will give a splendid performance, I trust, even though they missed two opportune days to fine tune the show. Please join us in giving them our encouragement and applause for powering through despite the missed practices on these past few "Ice Cation" days. In true Mustang spirit, as they say, the show must go on! Ms. Pipitone will give us guidance on our next steps with the performance.
